Muse Advisory have appointed Mark Dallaway to their administration consulting team. His appointment will help the team to support trustees faced with major strategic administration decisions. Dallaway joins from AonHewitt where he was in a senior client management role. Prior to that he worked in administration and management consulting roles at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) and Mercer.
Thomas Chevalier has joined SL Capital Partners (“SL Capital”) as investment director in Edinburgh. He will provide guidance on legal and regulatory issues, both internally and to clients. Chevalier has joined from Gazprom Bank in Moscow where he helped set up an investment fund subscribed by pension funds, sovereign funds and high net worth individuals. He also worked at LInklaters, LLP in Belgium for four years providing legal advice to major financial institutions, companies, pension and private equity funds.
Ruston Smith has been elected as the next chairman of the Retirement Policy Council of the National Association of Pension Funds (NAPF). Smith will take over from Joy Moore when her term ends at the NAPF Annual General Meeting in Manchester on 21 October 2011. Smith is currently vice chairman of the NAPF Retirement Policy Council and is the Group Pensions and Insurable Risk director of Tesco.
LV= have announced the appointment of Iain Clark who has joined as managing director of protection. Clark previously worked for Legal and General where he was sales director for its IFA protection business. He will work alongside Mark Jones who is head of protection at LV= and Mike Farrell who is head of protection sales.
Benjamin Keefe has joined Gamma Finance LLP as director of its new Investment Advisory business. Keefe previously worked with UBS Investment Bank where he was a director responsible for risk assessments of new business initiatives and complex trades. He also has experience in hedge fund analysis and fund management. Between 2006 and 2009 Keefe worked as a member of the investment committee at Nedgroup Investments and prior to this he worked as a hedge fund analyst with HSBC Investment Bank.
MGM Advantage has strengthened its team with the appointment of David Gulland to its Executive Team and Board as chief risk officer. His new role will take effect from 26 September 2011 and Gulland will be responsible for the actuarial, compliance and risk management functions at the retirement income specialist.
Gulland will join from Reinsurance Group of America’s (“RGA”) UK and Irish business where he is currently managing director.
He has vast experience within the UK life insurance industry having worked with a diverse portfolio of clients.
Capita Hartshead Actuarial and Consultancy Services has appointed Sue Curley as consultancy director. She joined Capita Hartshead in 2009 and has 28 years of consulting experience. Curley will have overall responsibility for the consulting, investment and retail teams and will be in charge of 28 employees.
Wendy Mayall has rejoined investment consultant Stamford Associates as managing director and head of strategy. She previously worked for the firm from 1984 to 1994 and also worked as chief investment officer for 16 years at the Unilever Pension Fund. Her role is to enhance the firm’s services to new and existing clients.
Deloitte has strengthened its Pensions and Investment team with the appointment of Richard Slater as head of pensions in the Scottish pensions practice in Edinburgh and Dave Lyons who has joined the team as director in Manchester. Slater has joined from PwC and brings more than 20 years of industry consulting experience to the company. Lyons has joined from JLT Investment Consulting. He will provide investment advice to the sponsors and trustees of pension schemes.
Marissa Blankenship has been appointed as a sustainability research analyst to work as part of the Global Sustainability Research team at RCM. Blankenship joins from Truestone Impact Investment Management where she worked as a consultant and prior to that she worked as an advisor at Incofin Investment Management in Belgium.
Jelf Employee Benefits have announced the appointment of Kate Millward who has joined as combined benefits consultant in the Annuity bureau department. Her role will be to look after group schemes and assist clients with retirement options. She previously worked as business development manager for AXA and has been involved in the industry for 15 years.
Alain Moyeuvre has been appointed UK compliance officer at SKAGEN Funds. Moyeuvre joins from Aviva Investors where he worked as senior compliance manager and was responsible for providing advice on business activities across UK and international markets. His new role will include providing regulatory and compliance counsel and also advising on legal issues regarding collective investment schemes.
